Automated Scheduling
Automatically schedule all students based on course requests. Classes are balanced by size, gender, and even skill level — e.g., it checks each student's average math grades when placing them in math classes. It also avoids putting too many troublemakers in the same class, and you can prevent specific students from being together. Supports block, alternating, and rotating schedules on multiple calendars. Create multiple drafts to compare different scheduling scenarios. Automate walk-in scheduling too.
Course Requests
Students can submit course requests online, and parents can approve it online, with write-in special requests. Teachers can make course recommendations online, and counselors can review requests online to ensure each student is on track to graduate.
Graduation Requirements
Create individualized four-year plans for high school students, and automatically track their progress toward graduation and college-entrance requirements. You may customize multiple tracks.
Discipline Referrals
Submit referrals online, and it automatically goes to the student's assigned AP, counselor, or homeroom teacher, so it's easy for everyone to manage their own caseload. Customize your discipline codes and disciplinary actions. Record disciplinary action, and escalate as needed. Track who owes detention, who showed up, and who skipped. Also log good behavior and non-disciplinary issues. Parents can receive automatic alerts by email or text message, and students can see their discipline log online, so they know they're accountable! Use the analytic report to determine if new programs are effective.
Student Billing
Mail or email invoices for fees & tuition. Apply course fees automatically to enrolled students. Track student balances, and see who's paid each fee. Parents and students can check their balances online.
Attendance
Teachers submit roll online by seating chart or roll sheet. The attendance clerk can verify who has taken roll, clear absences, generate generate reports and truancy notices, and calculate the ADA. You can even pre-excuse an entire team or class for upcoming activities. Supports period, daily, and half-day attendance.
Standards-Based Grading
Define your rubric scale and customize your report cards (see Sample Report Card). Teachers align each assessment to one or more objectives, so report cards are filled automatically, and teachers can see each student's progress and the class averages in real time. Calculate students' latest levels achieved, as advocated by Dr. Robert Marzano. View the overall proficiency level of each grade level for the whole school.
Curriculum Map & Lesson Plans
Teachers can easily see how many assessments they have for each objective in each grading period. The can enter their lesson plans online, and share them with other teachers.
Lunch Counts
Post your breakfast and lunch menus online for students and parents. Teachers submit lunch counts online along with their attendance. The office sees who has not submitted their counts yet, and the total counts for the day.
Substitutes
Substitute teachers have a special login to take roll. Teachers can submit their lesson plans from home, then the secretary can print the seating charts and lesson plans for all absent teachers at once.
GPA & Eligibility
Automatically list any athletes with low grades or GPA's to see if they're eligible to play, or list students eligible for Honor Roll, and so on.

Jupiter SIS and Jupiter Grades are a single integrated web application, so teachers and admins always have real-time access to data. Teachers love Jupiter Grades for its rich features, customizable grading, and ease of use. Admins can set default grading options, and they can access teachers' gradebooks.

Parent Portal
Parents and students can login anytime to check their current grades and homework. Everyone has their own password, so grades are always private. Everything is updated live, so you never need to upload anything. Or you can turn off web access and email grades instead.
Homework Calendar & Files
Students and parents see all homework on one page for all their classes, including assignment descriptions and downloadable documents. It even reminds them of big upcoming projects and overdue assignments. All this is automatic, so it's minimal work for teachers. Plus each student has their own digital file locker, so they can work on their files from any computer at school or home.
Mobile
The mobile version for iPhone, iPad, and Android has something for everyone: Teachers can enter roll and grades, and submit referrals. Admins can receive referrals and locate students. Parents and students can check grades and homework anywhere.
Spanish Translation
Report cards, comments, email, and alerts are translated to Spanish automatically for Spanish-speaking parents. Parents can set their own language preference online.

Jupiter uses SSL encryption, and all passwords are salted and hashed for maximum security. It automatically detects suspicious logins and alerts you immediately by email. You can assign role-based security restrictions for teachers, clerks, counselors, AP's, principals, etc., plus make individual exceptions. We have proven defenses against malicious attacks (XSS, DDoS, SQL injection, brute force, phishing, etc.). Jupiter is fully compliant with FERPA and COPPA.
Backups
Our servers are backed up nightly, and you can view and restore grades and attendance from any date whenever you want. Also our servers use redundant disk drives, routers, and power generators for maximum uptime.

Technical support is available by phone or email. Because Jupiter is web-based, we can remotely view your account whenever you need support, and even adjust your settings for you. (For privacy, you may block us from seeing personally identifiable student information.) Most questions are answered in less than one hour.
